Welcome to the world where fashion meets fowl! In this realm, we explore the fierce competition between the glamorous catwalks of high fashion and the waddling duckwalks of some Bollywood starlets who seem to believe beating professional models is pretty much a walk in the park.
There is a growing trend in the fashion world to use movie stars in their fashion shows. Apparently, nothing says “look at my designer clothes” quite like a celebrity tripping over a runway while smoldering for the camera! It helps garner the eyeballs and the honorable mention, whether it be in the news or the hallowed paparazzi pages on Instagram. Because who needs a trained model when you can have a celebrity dramatically ruining the catwalk?

The starlets strutting rather uncomfortably on the runway must be finding some respite in the large paychecks the designers are offering them. The models, on the other hand, seem to be doing their best not to look undermined as the entire fashion show becomes less about the designer wear and more about the awkward ballet of the actresses.
Instead of showcasing the latest trends, we’re treated to a masterclass in “How Not to Walk in Heels.” The actresses are out there, wobbling like they’re on a tightrope, while the audience is left wondering if they should applaud or call for a lifeguard. So, as the models glide effortlessly, we can’t help but chuckle at the starlets.
It would be great if in our large and prospering fashion industry everyone musters up the courage to tell the goddess of a movie star to PRACTICE! A little more professionalism would go a long way in taking Indian fashion to the next level and not make a mere mockery of the fashion show which should ideally be a crescendo, a culmination of the hard work the designers and models have been putting in.
Also, the idea of keeping the fashion world and ramp walks to the professionals—because let’s be honest, if I tried to strut my stuff on a catwalk, it would look more like a cat trying to walk on a hot tin roof! We need those fashionistas with the goods and skills to make it look good so the rest of us can enjoy the view from the safety of our couch, snacks in hand, feeling proud that we at least know how to wear sweatpants like a pro!
